A fundamental part of my methodology is asking the Universe for guidance through the time-honoured practice of 'divination'. For this I use either Tarot cards or the I-Ching (depending on my client’s preference) the symbols and archetypes of which have profound significance with many layers and levels of meaning. These potent guides which reflect our hidden desires, actions and goals, reveal to us hidden depths of ourselves which we sometimes unconsciously choose to ignore, deny, or repress. The Universal language which they both share makes them effective tools for self-understanding, psychological growth and for making life choices that are critical to our future. We often need a signpost to help making a decision, or act as a confirmation of our doubt or belief in a business matter or personal relationship. Uncannily, the Tarot and the I-Ching have the ability it seems to predict patterns or events that are soon to happen or unfold over time.
In order to make more sense of the information afforded the Tarot or the I-Ching, and be able to apply it to our daily lives in a positive and meaningful way, we also need to use our intuition and under-used powers of critical thinking. This often-overlooked process, which requires us to re-examine and reinforce an existing belief or replace it altogether with a new-founded Truth, is vital to our future wellbeing and happiness.
From birth we are encouraged by our parents, coerced by school teachers, and programmed by the TV, radio and newspapers, into accepting the reality that is presented to us. As a result, we are all prone now to believe the believable lie, rather than to believe the unbelievable truth. The way to perceive the world around us is to recognise that much of what we believe to be true is actually no more than our (or someone else's) best guess at any moment in time. When we start to question and re-examine these schooled beliefs, discover that many of them simply don't add up, and say to ourselves "something is not right here", we immediately become a stronger and more knowing version of our Self.
The opposite of 'letting go' is 'clinging to', and we all do it. The things that we tend to cling to, whether material or emotional, often become crutches, attachments and narratives. Whilst some of these attachments and narratives can be comforting and positive in our lives, many can be negative and extremely difficult for us to let go of, particularly those which are formed by deep-seated fears, beliefs, and base emotions -a lot of which will have emanated from our childhood. It is perfectly normal and healthy to allow ourselves to feel fear, anger, grief and confusion inside of us. But when we subconsciously attach ourselves to these negative feelings, we become demotivated, discontented and miserable. It is the attachment to these negative feelings that is the prime cause of our unhappiness. An integral part of my Reading and Coaching is therefore devoted to helping clients to identify and let go of these draining and devitalizing attachments and false narratives. Letting go is simply a process of identifying and relinquishing painful memories, harmful desires, unhealthy habits and false premises -and replacing them with forgiveness, love and self-compassion. Sometimes all we need to overcome our fears and misconceptions is a little nudge combined with a meaningful shift in our perception.
'Beliefs' are actually the enemy of knowledge. They are incredibly powerful and, as with 'attachments', impact almost every area of our lives. But as well as being a positive influence, they can also taint our perceptions and hinder our progress in the workplace, in our recreation and in our relationships. An important part of my Reading and Coaching is therefore dedicated to helping Clients to dispel and shake off their limiting beleifs. Incredibly, by the age of 5 we have already adopted 90% of the thought processes and behavioural patterns that we carry with us into adult life. Which means that up to this tender age, whilst our brains are in 'sponge mode', if we are told that we are not clever enough or not capable of doing something, we are prone to believe it. And when we fail at anything thereafter, we then see this as evidence to justify this belief. We then go on in our lives subconsciously gathering more evidence, until it becomes a deeply ingrained belief. As a result we tend to slip into an accepted, mundane and often unrewarding day-to-day 'getting-by' pattern of living that inhibits our ability to achieve inner-contentment and find true happiness! In order to move our lives forward in the meaningful and lasting way that we all want, and deserve, these negative limiting beliefs need to be disproved, dissolved, and dispelled so that we can step into a much better version of ourselves. Because in our abundant Universe our beliefs not only change how we are, they change who we are.
The word ‘Spirit’ comes from the Latin 'Spiritus' which means ‘Breath.’ Each Breath that we take, each inhalation and exhalation, is a reverent connection to Spirit. From our first Breath at birth, to our last Breath at death we fill our life vessels with Spirit. We are Light coming into form, with Love expressing itself in the flesh, and our Breath invigorating our presence in the World through Light. Our 5D level of consciousness has a higher vibrational energy and is our higher-Self (our best-Self) in this lifetime on Earth where we are merged with our 3D self (our lesser physical Avatar self which has a lower vibrational energy).
